Side Effects
Allergic reactions If you have an allergic reaction see a doctor straight away. The signs may include: • Sudden fever • sudden skin reactions (such as rash or itching) or other serious skin reactions • difficulty breathing. See a doctor straight away if you notice any of the side effects above. Other side effects: • Liver disease (acute hepatitis). • Changes in some laboratory tests (increase of liver enzymes, increase of bilirubin in blood, increase of eosinophils). • Blood in urine.
Drug Interactions
• Diethylcarbamazine citrate (DEC) (a medicine used in the treatment of lymphatic filariasis) • Warfarin (a medicine used to prevent blood clots) .
Indication
It is an antiparasitic medicine used to treat the following infection: • Treatment of intestinal strongyloidiasis. • Treatment of parasites in the blood or tissue caused by Wuchereria bancrofti. • Treatment of human scabies after prior treatment has failed.
When not to Use
Do not take if: • You have an allergy to or any of the ingredients listed • The packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering • The expiry date on the pack has passed. If you take this medicine after the expiry date has passed, it may not work.
Ivermite Tablets Precautions
Precaution
Take the number of tablets your doctor has prescribed all at the same time with water on an empty stomach. Do not eat any food within two hours before or after taking the tablets. This is because it is not known how food affects how your body absorbs the medicine.
Ivermite Tablets Warnings
Warning 1
Tell your doctor if you have a weak immune system (immunity disorder) .
Warning 2
Tell your doctor if you live or have lived in parts of Africa where there are cases of human parasitic infestation with the Loa loa filarial worm also called eye-worm .
Warning 3
Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients weighing less than 15 kg have not been established.
